Solid spot. Dark and sultry vibe. Older crowd on the night I was there. Service was pretty good. Drinks were a little on the expensive side, but that was expected given the venue and the view. Ordered some apps, they were all solid. charcuterie board, and something else that I can't remember for some reason. We had a nice time and had a few drinks. Nice place, but probably not in my regular rotation b/c of price. There is an outdoor area, but I visited at night and it was rainy, but it could be really nice on a warm day.

Now one of my favorite date night spots in San Francisco. Reservations are made easily online, it's walking distance to union square and the ambiance is so cute with dim lighting. We were greeted right away by the hostess and sat on the patio. They have plenty of fire pits and blankets for colder nights. We started with a charcuterie board, which was my favorite. Then had our main course, bone marrow and the pork chop, which I thought was just okay, however, they were beautifully plated. Lastly the view is amazing, I would say this place is definitely worth a try.

Located on the 12th floor at the Canopy Hotel near the Metreon. The other landmark is the carousel at Moscone. The eight of us drove downtown after dinner. Our friend made a reservation for 9:30pm last Saturday night. We took a chance and decided we'd go and try to get an earlier seating. Arrived at 8,30pm. The host said he had room for eight at the red booth located against the wall. The entire party must be present to be seated. We walked outside for a look. Plenty of heat lamps. Almost 360 degrees view. We spent around two hours lounging. A live DJ comes on at 10pm but he started around 9:30pm. We ordered drinks. No food. Bar tab $289 - hubby had three martinis himself. The crowd thinned out while we were there. Then picked up as we were leaving. Being locals we still appreciated the rooftop experience. We only took a group shot but I didn't take any other shots to share here. We found nearby street parking; however there is a public parking garage a block away. And the Muni Metro station is right on the corner.

Shelby's is a solid addition to SF's growing rooftop scene. I've been a few times and they're consistent with good service. Parking can be tricky. Either park in the parking garage on Mission / 5th St or use public transit. Food was decent. The Koji Chicken Wings were great but the Patatas Bravas, I wouldn't order again. You have a nice selection for cocktails/drinks. Nothing in particular stood out to me but nonetheless, all solid choices. What I like about Shelby's is how lowkey and laidback it is compared to other rooftop bars in the city. Other places can be a bit over the top with the atmosphere and music and it can be super crowded and overstimulating. To me, this place is perfect if you want to grab a drink and just chill, chat, and hang out.

Since a kid I liked being on top of a roof in San Francisco. I like to go roof less ( not ruthless) and feel the San Francisco natural air conditioning at night and after midnight. I remember coming to rooftop bar and lounge before the precovid years and there was all kinds of parties and it was fire ( the roof was not on fire )with music drinks flowing and the views of the city lights from the roof top and the stars around planet earth . In 2024 the views remains and it is located at a former hotel location now called "Canopy". I came here for an event with an open bar at this open space rooftop called " Shelby's Rooftop". This was a good place to enjoy the view and savor all the different drinks from the open bar. I was doing my wine tasting and then started signature drinks and one named after a musical legend "The Rick Rubin". My favorite new bourbon "Bull Sour" is not too sour then the relaxing lounge drink "Side Peach". Good vibes and it was great to meet people from all over the world visiting San Francisco along with a few rare locals San Franciscans in the mix ( always ask a local San Franciscan what San Francisco High School they attended). A good view and good times from the top. Come take a view of the city from the roof and watch it light up like Salesforce Tower Enjoy the view and lounge and grab a drink like the Bull Sour

A great spot for date night with a beautiful view of the city, located in the Canopy Hilton Hotel. We got there around 6 pm, so it was still bright out. The hostess was polite and accommodating and gave us an option to sit inside or outside. We chose to sit outside thinking it was warm enough. But being on a rooftop, it was cool and breezy, where my hair was whipping in the wind! Although I wasn't cold, it wasn't easy to take photos without my hair in my face! I think after sunset, the city lights would make for better pictures as well. But we had plans after having a few drinks and appetizers, so this was just a pitstop before the main event. ***OUR PICKS*** LYCHEE MARTINI ~ Tasty drink though instead of a lychee in the drink, they used a cherry which made it a little pink on the bottom. Not a bad thing, but different. 4/5 CASEY'S PUNCH ~ Tito's Vodka, Peach Schnapp's, passion fruit, orange, and cranberry. Nice and fruity and somewhat boozy. 4/5 SMOKE TROUT PATE ~ Whipped cream cheese, lemon, dill, toasted rye and caviar. They give you 5 slices of crunchy toast for the pate. It tasted pretty good and it wasn't too salty. Though I prefer crackers or smaller pieces of toast. 4/5 BLUEFIN TUNA TARTARE ~ Avocado, tamari, ginger, kewpie wasabi mayo, jalapeno, scallion, and crispy purple potato chips. This was good as well, though I think it should have been in a smaller bowl surrounded by the chips. The presentation could have been better and portion was quite small. 3/5 For 2 drinks and 2 appetizers, it was $100! Pretty pricey! And that wasn't even dinner.
